Day 4

Yet another amazing day, the hottest day since we’ve arrived. Mrs O’Brien, Mrs Bentley, Mrs Gillies and Mrs Jasper took part in the Equiano Literacy festival. The people attending the festival were teachers from the area of Waterloo in Sierra Leone , Officials for the Government and Tribal Leaders. As we looked at the audience it was a sea of colours because of the beautiful traditional African clothing.

The three workshops that they delivered under overhead canapies were extremely successful and the teachers participated keenly with the activities presented by our staff.

Another inspirational day! It has been a privilege to share our knowledge with the teachers from Waterloo, Sierra Leone. Staff from English Martyrs shared their understanding on how to teach reading, writing and the importance of involving families in this learning.
