Day 5

Amazing! It was the last day of the Literacy Festival and Mrs O'Brien, Mrs Bentley, Mrs Gillies and Mrs Jasper were blown away by the enthusiasm of the delegates at their workshops. It has been so rewarding to work with our friends in Sierra Leone.

At lunch they spent time chatting to children from St Raphael's Secondary School. This was a wonderful opportunity to find out about their daily lives. The children have high aspirations and they are so inspirational in the way that they combine their studies with domestic chores, such as water carrying, clothes washing in the stream and sweeping the dusty floors in their compound.

Wonderful to see English Martyrs staff (and Anne) doing what they do best. Inspirational and I'm certain, very pedagogical.
